New sites are opening regularly in Scotland, so this list is likely to go out of date.  If you want to know whether there is a natural burial site in a particular area and there is not one listed below, contact the Cemeteries Management section of the Local Authority for that locality.  They will have a comprehensive knowledge of both local authority and privately run sites in their area and are likely to know of any in the planning stages.

Natural burial includes the burial of ashes in a bio-degradable container or their scattering, in addition to the burial of bodies in shrouds or bio-degradable coffins.
